Process
In order to bring your existing number to the Telenor family through Mobile Number Portability, just follow the 4 simple steps.

1. Check the following

For verification with your existing mobile operator, bring any receipts, SIM  Card, SIM Jacket etc. that validate your ownership of your existing   number that you wish to port to Telenor.

If an individual subscriber, please bring identification information  (original CNIC, NIC, Passport) of the owner of the number to be ported.

If your number is part of a corporate subscription, please bring along a  copy of identification information of the Chief Executive or the authorized  signatory for the subscription. You must also bring along a written request  on the company’s letterhead or porting request application, signed by the  Chief Executive/authorized signatory, requesting to port the number(s)  issued in the name of the company/organization.

2. Visit any Telenor Sales & Services Center, along with the necessary     information, to make a porting request by filling out a porting request form by     Telenor Pakistan. You would be requested to show the SIM for verification     purposes.

3. A porting fee has to be paid when making a porting request, as per policy.     Please ask the agent attending you for the amount of the porting fee.

4. A Number Portability Request (NPR) is launched by Telenor Pakistan and you     are given a Telenor Pakistan SIM Card, along with a tentative time to when    you can start to use Telenor’s network on this SIM.

You will receive a Mobile Number Portability User Guide along with the Telenor Pakistan SIM Card, which will inform you about the services you can enjoy while using Telenor on your existing number. How to join Ufone:

PORT-in Process :
Customers will be required to fill in the port request form giving out their mobile number, name, CNIC/NIC/passport # & SIM number.
In addition to port request form (copy enclosed), customers will be required to fill in CSAF just like it is done for new sales as per the product opted pre or post followed by payment of security deposit in case of postpaid as per tariff plan. Q: What are the charges for porting in to Ufone
A: It is free for our valued customers porting in from other networks.

Q: What charges do I have to pay to port-out of Ufone?
A:         (If customer does not agree to stay on board) for postpaid customer: he / she would need to settle his / her dues completely on all numbers registered in your name.
After settlement of dues, you need to convert the “to be ported out number” from postpaid to prepaid and then U can port-out after 4 working days.
U would need to visit the recipient operator’s office for all this

Q: Are there any other conditions that need to be fulfilled at donor operator’s end before I can port in to Ufone OR before I port out of Ufone?
A:         The number has to be registered in your name, U need to settle all financial & contractual obligations (if any) before porting out.
You number has to be active for at least 60 days after the date of activation / ownership change.

Q: In what time frame will I able to port in to your network?
A: End to end it is max of 4 working days process, however it depends how quickly the donor operator responds after the clearance process.

Q: What is the clearance process?
A: The number has to be registered in your name, U need to settle all financial & contractual obligations (if any) before porting out. You number has to be active for at least 60 days after the date of activation/ ownership change.

Q: Would my existing SIM card work when I port-in to Ufone / port out of Ufone?
A: No, you will be given a new SIM card when U port-in to Ufone.
Similarly U will get a new SIM card from the operator U port to.

Q: Will my prepaid balance get transferred with my number when I port out of Ufone or Port-in to Ufone from other networks.

A: No the prepay balance is not portable. U will have to recharge new Ufone card or use U-Top Up facility for the same.

Q: What will happen if I have any outstanding dues at donor operator’s end & I apply for port-in to Ufone OR I have dues at Ufone end & I want to port out?

A: Your port request will be rejected by donor operator; therefore U will be required to settle your dues completely before applying for porting.

Q: The number is not in my name & I want to apply for porting?
A: U will have to either get the number registered in your name before applying for porting or U will have to apply with the same name & NIC # under which your number is registered with the donor operator

Q: I have applied for port-in to Ufone as postpaid customer & have paid the security deposit, if my case gets rejected by donor operator, in what time will I get my security deposit refunded?

A: Right away, all you have to do is to visit the same Ufone outlet where U had applied for port-in & request for refund. The said outlet will refund your money there & then.

Q: Will my contacts, address book etc remain intact when I port?
A: If the contacts are saved in the phone, yes they will remain intact, however if they are saved in the SIM card, they will not remain intact as you will get a new SIM card from the recipient operator, therefore it is advisable to copy your contacts from SIM to the phone (if your phone has the option) before porting.

Q: I have applied for port-in to Ufone, would my number remain active throughout the port process period of 4 days?
A: Though your number will remain active but there will be a down time of couple of hours during which the donor operator will disconnect the number from its network & Ufone will process the activation of your number on its network.

What is Mobile Number Portability?

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) enables customers to retain their mobile telephone numbers (including the three digit prefix) when changing from one mobile operator to another mobile operator. This means the customer has absolute freedom to choose whichever package he likes best in Pakistan!

What are the benefits of Mobile Number portability?

* You will be able to take advantage of Warid’s premium rates and attractive service offerings without even changing your mobile number.
* You will save the inconvenience of informing all your contacts as is faced in the current number change scenario.
* You will experience cost saving by avoiding the costs of stationary (letter heads and business cards) printing since you number will remain the same.

How can I Port my number to Warid?

You can make an application to Warid at its sales & customer service outlets and complete the required documentation. Warid will then pass your information to the donor operator (your current service provider) for verification. Upon successful porting‚ you can come home to the vast array of value added services provided by Warid Telecom. You do not have to approach the donor operator to apply for termination of services or return the SIM card to the donor. Warid will facilitate you in this respect.

Note:- You may have to contact your donor operator to clear your outstanding dues.

What is a Donor operator?

Your current mobile service provider from which you want to switch your number to Warid Telecom will be the donor operator.

What is a Recipient operator?

The mobile service provider to which you want to switch while keeping your current number will be the recipient operator. e.g. If you want to switch your number to Warid‚ then Warid is recipient operator.

What are the documentary requirements for porting?

You need to complete the following documentary requirements:

* Port Authorization Form
* Physical SIM card of the Donor operator for verification
* Original CNIC/NIC/Passport (Copy of CNIC/NIC/Passport will be retained)

For successful conversion to Warid you need to fill out the mandatory requirements of a new sale which are:

* Customer Service Agreement Form
* Two References
* Address Verification Documents (for postpaid connection only)
* Request on letter head in case of corporate

What information do I need to provide to initiate a port-in request?

You need to provide the following information to Warid at the time of port request:

* Personal information (name and ID number) as recorded in the donor operators database;
* Last 12 digits of SIM card number (not required in case of INSTAPHONE)
* Mobile number(s) to be ported;
* Names of donor network operator
* At least one contact number to facilitate any contact during the porting process

You may be asked to provide some extra information e.g. address verification documents if you wish to avail our Warid Postpaid  packages.

What are the financial requirements of porting a number to Warid?

A processing fee of Rs.100 (nonrefundable) is applicable at the time of port-in. For postpaid connection depository requirements will be governed as per the tariff and access level requirements

Will I be required to change my SIM card?

Due to the unique features offered by each operator you will have to change the SIM card if you wish to port.

Will there be any disruption of services during the porting process?

Your number will remain activated on the donor network during the porting process. However‚ there will be a temporary suspension period of one hour during which the recipient operator will activate the new SIM‚ donor operator will deactivate the old SIM and recipient operator will inform all operators to update their databases so that your port-in connection can receive calls from all operators in Pakistan & abroad. During this period all VAS services will remain functional till the time final deactivation from the donor network takes place except International Roaming.

Note: During the porting process of a Post Paid connection‚ your donor operator may do one of the following with your postpaid connection:

* Reduce your credit limit to 60% of the original credit limit
* Require security deposit in case your number was running on waiver
* Upon receipt of port-out request immediately deactivate your International Roaming facility.

Will my Pre-paid balance be transferred to recipient network?

No‚ any existing credit at the time of porting will be lost.

Will my Post-paid credit balance be transferred to recipient network?

No‚ any credit balance (advance payments) will have to be settled with the donor operator‚ no financial adjustment will be done between the recipient and the donor operator.

What are my responsibilities as a customer if I want to port my number to Warid?

* You must make sure that no mobile number under your NIC on the donor network is in default. Otherwise your donor may reject your port request on reason of related defaulted accounts.
* You must make sure that you have not given a request for porting your number to any other operator at time of giving port-in request to Warid.
* You have to clear all your financial obligations at the donor’s end up to the time of making port-in request at the recipient’s network.
* You may have to bear certain costs and fulfill obligations associated with your donor operator before switching of the mobile number to recipient operator
* There may be an existing contract with the donor operator‚ which may require you to pay them an early cancellation fee or termination payment. It is recommended that you check these details with the donor operator before giving your porting request.
* Successful porting to Warid will not eliminate your liability to clear any net financial obligation with your donor operator
* Any unused prepaid balance will be NOT be transferred from the donor network to the recipient network.
* You must make sure that you have stayed on the donor (current) network for at least 60 days before submitting any port request to Warid.
* Your number must be in connected status at time of port-in request. Your Donor operator may not allow the number to be ported-out if your number is disconnected.

What are the reasons on which my donor Operator can reject my port request?

Your donor operator may reject your port request based on following reasons:

* Number is not registered in your Name
* Number is not registered on your NIC/CNIC
* Number is not in connected status.
* Number has been terminated from the donor’s network.
* SIM card number that you have provided to the recipient does not match the one in Donor’s database.
* You have outstanding balance against your postpaid number.
* One or more numbers registered on your ID are in default (The number for which the services are in suspension with a net financial receivable).
* Number cannot be ported as it is bound by the some contract that you may have signed with the donor operator.
* Your connection is less than 60 days old.
* You have given request for change of MSISDN that is in process.
* You have given request for change of ownership that in process.
* Number requested for porting is in disputed and litigation is in progress (the matter is in a court of law in Pakistan).

How long does it take for porting?

Once acceptance is received from your donor operator‚ Warid will be able to port your number with in matter of few hours to a few days.

Normally donor operators will be able to send acceptance‚ for prepaid numbers in about one day. Actual porting time may depend on the type of connection and any contractual or financial obligations you may have to fulfill toward your Donor operator.

Can I withdraw/cancel my porting application after I have submitted it?

Yes‚ you can withdraw your port request anytime before your number has been terminated from the Donor network‚ by submitting a signed request on a prescribed form to the recipient operator along with your NIC copy.

Can I continue using existing VAS services?

All your existing services such as value added services provided by the donor mobile operator will be terminated at the time of porting. You need to choose from all available services provided by your recipient operator. International Voice Roaming services may be deactivated by the donor operator upon submission of request due to financial risk involved. It is advisable to initiate porting request after coming back from roaming.

Note: VAS services will be deactivated by the donor at the time of port and not at the time of submission of porting request by the customer. Any emails‚ Voice mails‚ SMS or MMS that are not retrieved from the donor network may be lost at the time of porting.

Can I port a previously ported number?

Yes‚ you can further port your mobile telephone numbers to another new mobile operator after the expiry of the Minimum Subscription period (60 Days). What you have to do is to repeat the process of MNP application as mentioned above.

Can the new operator “lock me in” for a “minimum contract period” after porting the number?

The recipient operator should explain clearly to you the terms and conditions of the new service‚ including any \”minimum contract period\”‚ before you decide to join the service. If there is a \”minimum contract period\”‚ you may have the option to leave the service during by paying an early termination fee to your operator as per the terms and conditions of your contract. For corporate accounts it is advised that they contact their KAMs (Key Account Managers) to checkup on the contractual obligations‚ before giving in a porting request.

Will I be allowed to port a connection I returned to the service provider a few months back?
You are not entitled to port these numbers if you have already terminated the services as the ownership of these numbers has been returned to the original mobile range holder.

What is an original range holder?

A range holder is the network operators which was originally allotted the mobile number pre-fix as per the licenses auctioned by PTA. For example 0321 & 0322 belong to the range holder Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd.

I have a Post Paid number; will I be able to port-in as a Pre-Paid number to the operator of my choice or Vice Versa?

Yes‚ you may port your post-paid number to the recipient network as a pre paid number or vice versa.

I have recently bought a new number; will I be allowed to port this number to another operator?
Yes‚ you will be allowed to port your number after expiry of the minimum subscription period (MSP) of 2 months. i.e. you will have to stay with your current operator for a minimum of 60 days before you can port your number to another operator.

Will I be able to transfer the ownership of my ported number to anyone?

No‚ according to the PTA regulations ownership of a ported number cannot be transferred.

Can I change the ownership of my port-in number?

No, Ownership of the ported number cannot be transferred / changed.

Can I block my port-in number on stolen basis?
Yes, you can block your ported in number on stolen basis.

Can I block my port-in number on voluntary basis?
Yes, you can block your ported in postpaid number on voluntary basis for three month after clearing all pending dues.
